Mother's Day Art

On the first week of school room 30 made mother's day art for our mums. We were trying to copy the artist, Claudia Pond Eyley.

First we drew flowers in a vase. Then we colored them in with pastel. We enjoyed not having to color right to the edges. For the vase we used magazine bits to collage it. Finally we dyed our background.

Unusual Numbers!

Today we learnt an unusual pattern with numbers for the year 2011...

Take the last 2 digits of the year you were born. Now take the age you will turn this year. Add them together. Did you get 111? Try it out with your parents, grandparents, etc!

Grace's Persuasive Writing

Point View School is the best school in New Zealand for so many reasons. We have an amazingly huge field, we’re the third biggest school in New Zealand and we’re going to have a hedge maize built.

Our field is so huge and spacious. It’s very fun to run around freely on. It’s very useful because many sports races can be held on our field. We can also kick balls around at lunchtime.

Secondly Point View is the 3rd biggest school in New Zealand and the bigger the better. We have 3 grounds for each syndicate so we eat in different areas.

Finally, on the 9-10th April there will be a fun working bee and lots of our helpful community will build a hedge maize just for us. It will take a few months to grow but we will still get to enjoy having fun on it for 2 years.

I hope I have proven to you Point View is the best school in New Zealand or even the world and I certainly hope you believe me!

Julia's Persuasive Writing

Point View School is the best school in New Zealand. Read this and you will find out exactly why and you won't be able to disagree!

Firstly, lots of pets visit, including cats, actually mostly cats, but after school, all types of animals come and there are lots of dogs. But if you are afraid of dogs or other animals, still come, because they are all controlled and hopefully by the end of your first day you will be lulled into the life of animals, because they are great!

Secondly, Point View School teachers are absolutely wonderful, kind and caring. I could go on forever but they help you learn and get you to your best standard just like saying a magic word!

Last but not least there are Mufti days and very cool mufti days. There are orcasome orca mufti days and lots of activities at lunch time whenever. Other times we have we have to wear certain colours like on the Christchurch earthquake we wore black and red.

Now you have got to believe me that everything Point View does is awesome. So... I must have persuaded you that Point View is the best school in the world!

We read this Stuff news article from Lily Anderson's experience last Tuesday at school in the

It was interesting to read about what it was like being at school when the earthquake struck.
